I do not know of an electronic forum for the discussion of
group-theoretical questions....

Joachim Neubueser

__________

Well, one does exist, though hitherto it has not been widely publicized.
I maintain a mailing list, which currently has about 30 members in the UK,
Germany, Australia and elsewhere. It was set up last summer as an experiment,
and after reasonable initial use, it has since been used less frequently.

I think, therefore, that 30 is below the `critical mass' and invite all
interested group theorists (and friends of group theory) to join the
mailing list. You do this by sending me a request to join. The procedure to
quit the list is similar.

The mailing list address is:

group-pub-forum@maths.bath.ac.uk

(The reason for the name is that the atmosphere is supposed to be
that of a public house situated next to a good group theory conference)

As usual, mail to this address is automatically forwarded to list members.
