^ Subject: Thanks to Frank Celler

Dear Forum members,

Today Frank Celler is starting to work in 'real life' - again on the
development of a software system. I am in no position to speak for GAP
Headquarters or GAP Council but I think I speak for many of you
thanking him for all he has done for GAP and the GAP community over
more than 6 years and I certainly personally thank him for all the
patient help he has given me.

Over the years Frank has contributed methods and code for various
areas of GAP, polycyclically presented groups, finitely presented
groups and matrix groups among them; together with Martin Schoenert
and Thomas Breuer he has planned GAP 4 and has contributed to its
kernel in particular after Martin left in September 1996. But also he
has been the ever friendly and helpful contact to many of you who have
contributed share packets or were writing GAP code for yourself or had
problems using GAP.

I - in fact I think we - wish him all the best for his future.
