Dear GAP Forum,

Jan de Beule asked:

We are about to finish a first version of a GAP-package. Writing the
documentation, we like to know if there exist a TeX to html converter, and
if so, were we can get it.

Several people have replied concerning various general programs for this
purpose. We also have a special program for converting the special and highly
restricted dialect of TeX used by the GAP manual and documented in chapter 2
of "Extending GAP". This is the program we use for preparing the HTML versions
of the GAP manual that are distributed, and are on our Web site. We do not
distribute this program generally, as it is depends on many features of our
computer setup here, and is not really robust enough to be supported for
general use, but we are happy to convert the documentation of share packages
for the authors when the packages are submitted or released.

Steve
