Dear GAP forum,

Catherine Greenhill asked about porting GAP to an Alpha/OS1 platform.

Due to internal representations of objects as 32 bit words in the GAP
kernel, it is not possible to compile the present version yourself.
However, we do provide an executable for DEC alpha under OSF1, which can be
found on our ftp server

samson.math.rwth-aachen.de

in the file

pub/gap/bin/bin3r3p0-dec-axp-osf.zoo

You will also find a version of unzoo for Dec AXP in the same directory to
unpack the binary.

May I just remind the members of the forum, that we have provided the
address
gap-trouble@samson.math.rwth-aachen.de

for installation and other technical problems, which usually are not of
interest to other members of the forum, working on different computers.
